Strategic Plan
In October 2017, the South Dakota Opioid Abuse Advisory Committee developed South Dakota’s Statewide Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis. This plan serves as a framework for the state’s response to the opioid crisis and is updated on a regular basis through the work of the Opioid Abuse Advisory Committee and the work of the Departments of Health and Social Services.
2021 Annual Report
Federal funding awarded to South Dakota in 2016 was used to provide a collaborative approach to combatting opioid misuse and abuse in our state. The plan outlined in the 2021 Annual Report maximizes federal funding across four key strategies:
- Prevention and Early Identification
- Treatment and Recovery
- Reducing Illicit Supply
- Response to Opioid Misuse or Abuse
Efforts to Date:
